The environment of Pu'er on the Tropic of Cancer is similar to that of the habitat of white rhinos, so it the most appropriate habitat for lumpy white rhinos. According to Simao County Records, Laiyang River Basin (now Sun River National Park) used to be an area with wide distribution of rhinoceros, but due to hunting, rhinoceros disappeared in this area. Pu'er Sun River National Park is rebuilding the rhino population in this area in the form of free-range feeding with artificial scientific support as a supplement.
